QReserve advances to top 10 in Lion's Lair competition
Hamilton, Ontario (July 24, 2015) —
QReserve is proud to announce that they have advanced as a top 10 finalist in the 2015 LiON'S LAIR competition. Presented by The Hamilton Chamber of Commerce and Innovation Factory, LiONʼS LAIR brings together the entrepreneurial community in Hamilton and gives local companies the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a panel of our city's top business experts — the "Lions" — for a chance to win over $100,000 in cash and in-kind resources.
"We have been working extremely hard this summer to prepare to face the Lion's and I am very proud of our team for making it into the top 10.", say QReserve Inc.'s CEO, Brandon Aubie. "It has been a very rewarding experience working within a group of talented and motivated entrepreneurs."
QReserve was selected to compete in this year's competition after their business plan was scrutinized by a series of industry professionals. This year, 15 ventures were selected as initial finalists from the pool of applicants. All 15 companies went through training over the summer months, but five were ultimately eliminated during a round of preliminary pitching. The final 10 move on to face the "Lions", which will include a 25-minute pitch and question session.
This year's panel of Lions includes: Mario Paron (KPMG), Tonia Jahshan (Steeped Tea), George McCarter (Pearson Dunn Insurance), Cheri Chevalier (Microsoft Canada), and Michael Macaluso (CARSTAR Automotive Canada Inc). You can visit lionslair.ca/the-lions to read their full biographies and learn more about their business expertise.
Each finalist will have their pitch evaluated by the Lions, who will determine business needs, impact on the community, commercial feasibility, and ultimately will decide which companies receives investments.
The pitches will be filmed by Cable 14 and presented at the LiON'S LAIR gala inside Carmen's Banquet Hall on September 30, 2015. This event will reveal the Lions' investment decisions live on stage.
